In the configuration of the aircraft, where you usually can select your seat when purchasing your flight ticket, you can see the location for special seats divided by children, special assitance and pets.
Something simple to digitalise, so important for so many of us but you hardly ever see in most airline websites.
In the case of pets:
→ You can select from 6 seats
→ You can see the current availability
→ You can select the seat next to your pet
That is awesome, and I hope to see it in more airlines.
However, they are repeating the same pattern as ITA Airways.
They jumped in the international PR wagon of becoming “pet friendly”, gaining the medal of being the first commercial airline allowing larger size pets (max 30kg) in cabin.
But in reality, you cannot book it.
There is no information.
And the maximum allowance keep showing max 10kg including the cage or soft sided carrier.
Which means we are back to square one, and only small cats and dogs can travel in cabin with their families.
And I haven’t called them to check, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they say they just did one trial flight and medium-large sized dogs have to travel on hold.
The dream many pet parents living in Italy hold onto when planning a trip, now gone.
Or not.
Back to long car journeys and/or taking a ferry, just like before.
And marketing?
An overpromise lesson we should learn from 🧡
