But a new player is building around the opposite idea.
SingaPaw Air, is the newest private jet charter service from Singapore, where pets fly in the cabin, sit next to their owners, and are treated like the most important passengers.
At first glance, it’s a luxury concept.
Flights can cost up to $30.000.
But the more interesting story is WHY people are choosing it.
→ No size or breed restrictions
→ 70-80% of bookings are for relocations
→ They organise and sell the whole flight experience
→ They also handle complex logistics: permits, health checks, and compliance
Because SingaPaw Air founder, Jamie Wong, happens to also be a travel agent.
People are willing to pay for PEACE OF MIND.
This is something I knew, but it was confirmed in the numbers I got from my thesis survey last year.
→ Pet owners don’t trust cargo travel
→ Emotional factors are driving purchasing decisions
→ And airlines have left a gap in the market
SingaPaw Air didn’t create demand. They responded to it. That is why this is working and it’s the 5th charter operator I’ve seen that is unapologetically calling themselves “Pet-First”.
→ They sell on demand
→ Uses partner aircraft and operator Air 7 Asia directed by Lesley Ann Chai
And if this model scales beyond private charters, it could reshape how airlines think about passengers… and who gets to be one 🧡
Bravo CNA and Fabian Koh for a fantastic showcase of the latest in pet air travel.
