101 families and their dogs and cats were brought home
from Abu Dhabi to Greece
in cabin and together.
And as the Greek interior minister said loud and clear:
“Our animals are not luggage, they are members of our family”
A clear reminder to governments and airlines worldwide:
This is what people want, and increasingly, what they expect.
Greece has become the first country organising repatriation flights from the UAE, since the geopolitical conflicts started, and where entire families and their pets are in urgent need of returning home.
Many nations have been facing the same problem for weeks now. They cannot afford financially to fly home with their pets.
Take the UK, as the worst example, where some of the strictest aviation policies still prohibit pets from travelling in cabin.
So families are forced into impossible choices.
Greece chose differently.
Now the question is:
Who follows?
Because this isn’t just policy, it’s a market shift.
And for airlines, it’s not just compassion.
It’s an opportunity that Italians already know 🧡
